TauroLock™-HEP100
Proven Protection for Catheter Care
TauroLock™-HEP100 is a specialised catheter lock solution designed to prevent infections and maintain catheter patency. Approved for instillation into all central venous catheters (CVCs) and suitable for all vascular access devices (VADs), this product contains taurolidine, 4% citrate, and 100 IU/mL of heparin. Taurolidine provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi, including resistant strains like MRSA and VRE. Heparin and citrate work together to prevent occlusions ensuring optimal catheter function.
This formulation is an excellent choice for patients who have previously relied on heparin as an anti-occlusive agent. By preventing the formation of bacterial biofilm, TauroLock™-HEP100 effectively safeguards against catheter-related infections. It is particularly recommended for use in CVCs within oncology and parenteral nutrition applications.
